The PythonAsia Online Charity Talk H2 (Second Half Of The Year) 2025 is the next installment of our biannual virtual charity event series. Following the success of the H1 edition held on July 26, 2025, we continue our mission to raise funds for open-source development and Python education initiatives across East and Southeast Asia.
Organized by the Python Asia Organization (PAO), this event brings together leading contributors, community builders, and technical experts to share insights on Python development, performance, tooling, and emerging innovations. All proceeds from the event will directly support regional programs that improve access to Python education in underserved communities.
Event Objectives
- Raise €8,000 to support Python education, open-source contribution programs, and community activities across Asia
- Highlight innovations in Python performance, backend systems, LLMs, concurrency, and modern development practices
- Showcase the work of respected contributors and leaders in the Python ecosystem
- Strengthen cross-border collaboration within the Asian Python community
Speakers
Ken Jin – Python Core Developer
Ken is a member of the Python core team, working primarily on performance enhancements in the Python interpreter. With four years as a core team member, he continues to push forward major improvements in CPython’s execution model.
Talk: Building a New Tail-Calling Interpreter for Python
Joongi Kim – CTO, Lablup Inc.
Creator of Backend.AI and Ph.D. graduate from KAIST, Joongi specialises in scalable backend systems and GPU-accelerated computing. His open-source contributions include CPython, aio-libs, and several other community projects.
Talk: Enhancing Structured Concurrency with aiotools v2
Tomoko Furuki (@komo_fr) – BeProud Inc.
Tomoko works on Python-based data science support and system development. In her free time, she builds creative LLM-powered side projects, including a voice-controlled toy car and automated storytelling tools using LangChain and LangGraph.

Daniel Roy Greenfeld – Feldroy, LLC
Co-author of the Two Scoops of Django series, Daniel has shaped Python best practices for tens of thousands of developers worldwide. He has contributed to hundreds of open-source packages and has held engineering roles at NASA, Kraken Technologies, and AI research teams.
Talk: Building a Python Web Framework in 2025
Maaya Ishida – Microsoft / Global Black Belt, Migrate & Modernize
A long-time PyLadies Tokyo organizer and contributor to PyCon JP Association. Maaya works as a System Architect with strong expertise in CI/CD, testing, operations, and security improvement.
Talk: How to Promote LLM Ops – Evaluation with Agent
Each speaker will present a focused, content-rich session followed by a live Q&A through Zoom’s text chat feature. YouTube Live will carry the event publicly to ensure accessibility.

Participants can choose from multiple access levels based on how they wish to support the event

Zoom access is limited to paid ticket holders. YouTube Live is intended to ensure accessibility for students and individuals in financial need.
